With markdown.enabled, when a request prefers text/markdown to text/html in its Accept header and the origin answers an HTML page with 200, the edge converts it to Markdown as it serves it. Agents get the same content with far fewer tokens; the cached page is not changed.
The Markdown response carries:
| Header | Value |
|---|---|
Content-Type | text/markdown; charset=utf-8 |
Vary | Accept |
x-markdown-tokens | Approximate number of tokens. |
Pages larger than 2 MiB are served as HTML.
