> openwaf-cloud ctl dns answers shows what OpenWAF's DNS publishes for the proxied names of a delegated zone.

## dns answers

```text
dns answers <zone> [--json]
```

For a delegated zone: the IPv4 and IPv6 edge addresses OpenWAF's authoritative DNS answers for the zone's proxied names, the edge nodes that serve the zone with their region and addresses, and for each proxied name the records published for it and whether they are in sync. Useful to confirm that a proxied name is served through the edge.

```sh
openwaf-cloud ctl dns answers example.com
```

For an external zone, whose DNS stays with your provider, use [`zones hosts`](https://developers.openwaf.dev/cli/reference/zones/#zones-hosts) instead: it checks in the public DNS whether each proxied name points at OpenWAF.
