# Batch rule changes

> Delete and add up to 500 edge rules of a zone in one version, from the API, the CLI or MCP.

Edge rules (IP, country, WAF exceptions and rate limits) can now be deleted and added in one change of up to 500 operations, applied as a single configuration version: all or nothing. Use `POST /v1/orgs/{org}/zones/{zone}/rules/batch`, `rules rm` with several ids or `rules batch` in the CLI, or the new `apply_rules_batch` MCP tool, which simulates before it applies like every other write.
